Chad Toujague, MSA, CAA                                                                                       

Director, Education and Operations

Mr. Toujague is a principal with Medical Impact Partners. In 2015, Chad Toujague founded Halo Health, an anesthesia staffing company to help the oldest-running public hospital in the United States continue their surgical services. This public/private relationship allowed the hospital to drastically improve its volume, outcomes, and efficiency to continue for an additional 4 years. Until recently, Mr. Toujague lead the Halo Health Anesthesia team and specialized in Trauma, Obstetrics and Cardiac.

As CEO of Halo Health, Mr. Toujague has grown Halo from a small staffing company based out of a single site in Washington, D.C. into a multistate operation encompassing over 15 hospitals and 10 hospital systems. In 2019, Mr. Toujague co-founded Halo Education (now Global health Initiative), a company based on increasing access to graduate level clinical degrees. These efforts continue with Global Health Initiative which has secured an additional funding for the creation of a College of Osteopathic Medicine in a strategic location that will serve a community in need.

Mr. Toujague’s current goals are in line with his role as managing partner of the Global Health Initiative, LLC and Medical Impact Partners to diversify the medical professions field and increase access to higher education. Our focus on the development of medical schools and allied health programs, efficient delivery of education and the fostering of clinical relationships that lead to improved teaching and improved outcomes.

Mr. Toujague is a board certified anesthesia provider (CAA) and holds a Masters of Anesthesia from Nova Southeastern University and a BS in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida.

Phil Zaveri    

Director, Finance, Operations and Real Estate

Mr. Zaveri is a principal with Medical Impact Partners and a Managing Director of Investments for Merit Point Capital (MPC), Mr. Zaveri is responsible for sourcing and managing investment opportunities across various segments of MPC. Mr. Zaveri has a broad depth of experience underwriting businesses and asset portfolios across multiple industries and asset classes including but not limited to commercial real estate, life insurance, business services, financial services, and life sciences. Mr. Zaveri has a passion for seeing deals through from start to finish utilizing a decade of experience in the industry to bring capital, debt, and JV partners together to enhance returns on targeted business acquisitions.

Throughout his career, Mr. Zaveri has been actively involved in evaluating management, development, and acquisition opportunities of commercial real estate deals as well as ventures in other sectors including healthcare and education. Previously, Mr. Zaveri served as a managing partner and board member at Conor Capital, a private equity commercial real estate development company, where he spearheaded transactions in hospitality, multi-family, senior living, and medicine. While at Conor Capital, Mr. Zaveri cultivated relationships with Hilton, Marriot, Hyatt, and Intercontinental Hotel Group. Mr. Zaveri’s greatest contribution to the group was advising the investment committee on deals based on rigorous underwriting standards.

Mr. Zaveri is a partner who serves on the board of managers for Medical Impact Partners, a company dedicated to promoting the education of quality allied health and medical professionals across the nation. Mr. Zaveri played an instrumental role in securing the group’s first round of funding commitment. His passion for healthcare and education come from conducting biomedical research at the Cleveland Clinic in partnership with the Department of Defense and Mayo Clinic while studying at Case Western Reserve University. This passion in conjunction with his entrepreneurial spirit pushed him to co-found Global Health Initiative a parent company of Medical Impact Partners.

William P. Orr, CAA

Director, Research, Development and Clinical Experience

Bill Orr is an Anesthesiologist Assistant by training and has spent the last 25 years practicing and teaching in the field of anesthesiology. This teaching experience includes 6 years on faculty with Nova Southeastern University’s AA programs in Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa. During this time Mr. Orr was a member of the founding faculty at both programs and was founding Program Director at the Tampa AAP.

Mr. Orr has been in healthcare his entire professional career spanning over 34 years, including his service in the Army National Guard. He began training as a Combat Medical Specialist and his service roles included: medical platoon training NCO, Combat Lifesaver course instructor and trac-mounted evacuation NCO/trac commander.

 

His passion for education led he and his partners to form Halo Education in 2018 to further the access to healthcare and promote the Anesthesiologist Assistant profession through the education of healthcare professionals. This led to his current roles as a principal at Global Health Initiative and Medical Impact Partners, a company dedicated to promoting the education of quality allied health and medical professionals across the nation.

He received his undergraduate education at Darton College and Albany State College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry. Mr. Orr completed his graduate education in anesthesiology at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia, earning the Master of Medical Science degree in Anesthesiology.

He is affiliated with many hospitals including H Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute and Life Time Cancer Screen Center Inc.

Shawnette Alford, C-TAGME

Assistant Director of GME Operations

(Accreditation, Grants, Program Management)

Ms. Alford is an experienced Graduate Medical Education professional that has worked in healthcare for over 15 years.  Ms. Alford brings to the Kiran Patel Institute of Graduate Medical Education (KPIGME), 19 years of knowledge and leadership in healthcare and 15 years in an academic setting.  In addition, she is an advisor for the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for new grantees who were awarded a HRSA/THC grant.  She serves on the advisory committee for the Leadership Institute.  

Her prior positions include Optician at America’s Best Eyeglasses & Contacts in Springfield, Pennsylvania, Human Resources Recruiter at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pennsylvania, Academic Coordinator at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Residency Program Manager at La Clinica de Familia in Las Cruces, New Mexico and Residency Program Manager at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center (GCRMC) is Alamogordo, New Mexico. She recently resigned from her position at GCRMC as the Assistant Director of
Graduate Medical Education where in this role
she was the Project Director for a HRSA grant awarded to Family Medicine Residency Program.

Ms. Alford was a founding member of The Association of Anesthesiology Program Administrators and Educators (AAPAE) and served as President Elect for one year until she accepted a new position in Family Medicine and resigned her appointed position.  She served on the Fundraising and Marketing Committee for Association of Family Medicine Administration. 

In 2014, Ms. Alford successfully passed the Qualifying and Certifying Assessment to obtain her Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education Certification.  She renewed her TAGME certification in 2022 and is currently in good standing.

A Philadelphia native and experienced healthcare professional, Ms. Alford is passionate and dedicated to a career in academic medicine.  Her mission is to ensure that residency programs will provide a supportive environment for residency training
that is balanced and wellness focused.
